Desmond Owusu is a creative, designer, and educator. He received his bachelors of science from Buena Vista University. He is the creative director for the clothing brands We All We Got and Chicago Girls Do It Better and was one of the owners of Chicago’s streetwear boutique, Fat Tiger Workshop.His language of art includes design and content that translates his experience as a Chicago native from the South Side. Growing up first generation Ghanaian, Desmond utilizes his skills and background to “bridge the gap” cross culturally, examining the synchronicities in our people, society, and how we all engage. His art through design is a signifier of the African diaspora, that stays true to its roots while continuing to teach, develop, and express new perspectives in creativity, history, and pop culture.
