Representing Bono Ahafo in Chicago since 1998

In early 1998 a group of Ghanaians from the then Bono-Ahafo Region residing in Chicago met at the residence of Kwasi Amponsa-Yeboah and decided to come together as a family. After a draft constitution was approved in subsequent meetings, election was held to elect the executives to steer the affairs of the association, Mr Kwasi Amponsa-Yeboah was elected as the president, Mr. Joe Konadu (vice president), Ms Akosua Ampofowa (treasurer), Mr. Kwasi Adu-Gyan (secretary), Mr Kwame Gyan Akyempon (publicity officer), Mr. Benjamin Asiedu (financial secretary) and Mr Yaw Sarfo Mintah (porter)

Nana Yaw Adu Gyamfi was installed as the chief, Nana Yaa Dokyiwaa as the queen mother and Nana Kwasi Atoade as Linguist.he council was formed to assist fellow Ghanaians and Africans with resources in citizenship, employment, housing, education, health, and fellowship
